Man dies from tapeworm tumours

A man in Colombia has died after developing tumours made of cancerous parasitic worm tissue in his organs.

The case was diagnosed through a collaboration between the US Center for Disease Control and the UK’s Natural History Museum. Peter Olson is a flatworm expert from the museum and was involved in the study.
