Fertility preservation is one of the most underprescribed and least implemented services for adolescent and young adult patients with cancer. There is a need to raise the awareness among cancer care givers of issues relating to the effects of cancer treatment on fertility, and encourage proactive address of these issues with patients before initiation of anticancer therapy. To address this need, ASCO has collaborated with LIVESTRONG to produce short videos for health care professionals on fertility preservation options and resources that are available for use with male and female adolescent and young adult patients diagnosed with cancer.
