Hear from some of the world’s leading below the belt researchers and patients through ANZUP’s FREE Community Engagement Forum. The forums are aimed at keeping people informed about below the belt cancer research, clinical trials, as well as important associated topics and it is completely free to register.
ANZUP has announced that both national and international experts will participate in ANZUP’s ninth annual Community Engagement Forum, ‘The Ball’s in Your Court’, in Melbourne on Sunday 9 July at the Melbourne Convention Centre.
“You have cancer”. Three words that can change your life in an instant. But what information do you need, what options do you have and how does life look after a cancer diagnosis?
ANZUP’s Community Engagement Forum, ‘The Ball’s in Your Court’ will explore why ANZUP exists, the importance of clinical trial research, how to find reliable (and verified) information, asking the right questions, being on the same page as your treatment team and what life looks like after cancer.
People registered will be able to ask ANZUP’s key cancer researchers questions on key topics and stay up to date on the latest in below-the-belt cancer research.
ANZUP Chair Professor Ian Davis said, “This free community forum will provide the opportunity to discuss the importance of clinical trials as well as the impact a diagnosis of a ‘below the belt’ cancer can have on a person and their family.”
Learn from personal experiences about treatment choices and decision-making, listen to valuable advice on communication and consenting and what life looks like after a cancer diagnosis. Engage in the interactive Q&A session with the panel of clinical experts and patients.
ANZUP’s mission is to improve the lives of people affected by bladder, kidney, testicular, penile and prostate cancers through practice-changing multidisciplinary collaborative clinical trials.
Everyone is encouraged to attend the forum and should register to ensure their place on the day. ANZUP will also be live-streaming the forum. All those who sign up to live-stream the Q&A will be sent a link nearer the event day.
