Immunotherapy is the clinical theme of the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia’s 48th Annual Scientific Meeting.
More than 700 internationally celebrated cancer experts will gather online for the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia’s 48th Annual Scientific Meeting this month.
This year, multidisciplinary experts will present on cancer care and research, learning from the challenges of the last year, to understand what can be implemented now and into the future to improve patient outcomes and practice.
The clinical theme of immunotherapy will be explored, with Nobel Prize Laureate Professor Peter Doherty AC reflecting upon the significant progress made in the field.
Speakers will also dive into advancements in supportive care, while top Australian researchers will share new research and ground-breaking treatments for diseases such as breast and lung cancer.
Voluntary assisted dying and medical cannabis remain controversies in cancer care. The meeting will provide an opportunity to evaluate the evidence in the Australian context and hear the perspectives ofcancer clinicians and consumer advocates including media personality Mr Andrew Denton, who is presenting on voluntary assisted dying
