Fran Boyle is a Medical Oncologist at North Sydney’s Mater Hospital, where she is Director of the Patricia Ritchie Centre for Cancer Care and Research, and Professor of Medical Oncology. She has been involved in research and teaching in communication in health care for the past 20 years, and is currently Director of the Pam McLean Centre in the Sydney Medical School. Understanding professional burnout, and its relationship to empathy, teamwork and communication, has been a focus for the Pam McLean team. The more so as they find themselves trying to be balanced during crazy times with COVID.
