Today’s episode is all about robots!  Yes, the wonderful folks over at Canteen have a new pilot program using telepresence robots to facilitate school-patient connection, reduce isolation and improve well-being for young cancer patients.

Rachael Babin learns more with Dr Jennifer Cohen, Evaluation Manager at Canteen. Jennifer is a paediatric dietitian and she worked at the Kids Cancer Centre at Sydney Children’s Hospital for 15 years.

Jennifer Cohen

Dr Jennifer Cohen is the Evaluation Manger at Canteen, Australia where she provides oversight of the development and evaluation of Canteen’s core services (overnight programs, online support services, telepresence robots) and incorporates evaluation findings into recommendations designed to improve program and service delivery within Canteen. Dr Cohen has over 18 years’ experience as a clinical dietitian and researcher and her numerous professional publications focus on her research and clinical interests in the supportive care needs of children and young people with cancer, both during and after treatment. Alongside her role as the Evaluation Manager at Canteen, Jennifer is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of NSW.
